I`m going to go out on a limb here and say you could NEVER get a 66 grill in a 65, I looks bad on the sides where it meets the fenders. maybe they could not find a good 65 grill and decided they needed hideaway headlights? also I`m 100% sure it has the wrong finish panel on the back, it has a 440 model finish panel the 500 finish panel looks totally different.
That's a shame.............. At this point throw in a 440 six pack and call it a 65 1/2 A12 prototype.........
Apples and oranges...not meant to go together. Even if it were a factory option I would not like it.

The thing it is a W45 vin code which would be a 500. A W35 would be a 440 car it is not unusal for the trunk panel to be incorrect because the 500 one is so much more money. But I can 100% tell you it would not come with a dodge charger grill from the factory.
Before you know it some jacka$$ is going to stick a 68 Coronet 440 grill in a 69 Charger and call it a Charger 500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
