It is actually printed by the Canadian Bank Note company. Looks and feels like real money..... wait, it is real money!!! At least up here anyways....

Canadian Tire is a huge corporation that sells auto/home/outdoor products in Canada. For decades the company has issued paper money as well as tokens to be used only in their stores and gas bars. It is the same as a rewards program and this 'money' can be used instead of real cash. A shopper also gets CT money even if they use plastic to make a purchase and the amount is based on a percentage of your total purchase at the cash register. Many people just throw this store money away or it gets all stuffed into a purse or wallet or under the seat of one's vehicle or wherever. Many see it as a nuisance while others see it as free shopping money, which is what I use it for. This 'money' comes in 5-10-25-50 cent and $1 & $2 denominations. It is printed on real legal monetary paper by the Canadian Banknote Co., as Fratzog mentioned above. It has the real feel of paper money. This script has been collected for decades and has a large following amongst paper money collectors, of which I am one. We even have our own collector newsletters and catalogs as well.
