Talk about return on your investment! $995 - 65K! It does look NOS. it appears to be a NASCAR version, notice the weird carb float bowls?
Lookin' at this engine and the Hemis, Chrysler and Ford sure had GM licked in the mid sixties. No wonder GM got out of racing - It is my belief that this is the reason the performance aftermarket got so huge for GM products. Ford and especially Chrysler developed their own stuff and the GM crowd needed the aftermarket to go fast (well just to keep up!) It always chaps my ass when I'm at the track lookin' at all the gutted 2800 lb Camaros with 100% aftermarket 400+ inch small blocks with 12inch wide tires runnin' the same ET's my barge runs. They think really doin' something! and i'm over 3600 lbs, narrow tires and engine parts made almost 50 years ago...Ranting over.
