I have a question about the front grill assembly for a 66 coronet. I recently took my grill apart to have it straightened, polished, and re-anodized. When I had it all apart, I noticed that there were square holes that held little white square plastic pieces that in turn you could screw into. They acted as a nut to fasten one portion of the grill to the other.

When I dropped this stuff off to the shop, I like a moron, left those in because I was afraid they would break into a million pieces if i messed with them. I left it up to the shops discretion when I brought them in to see if I needed to take those pieces off. He said, "No no no. We won't even bother those at all in doing what we need to do. Leave them there, you'll be fine."

Fast forward a month or so when I go to pick them up, and those pieces were gone. I didn't realize they were gone until I got home and a week later tried to assemble it all. Needless to say, the dummy lost them when he decided to take them off.

So now I ask you guys, who have dismantled your grill in the past, or have it dismantled now... What are these things called, and where do I go about purchasing them!?! I know, my description is sort of vague, but if you've ever taken one of them apart before, I'm sure you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. I'll try to upload some pix soon.

Thanks! and Ugh!!!
Not sure the name of them but I can provide you with a picture of them once I get home if it would help. I have had good luck emailing with YearOne when I need help finding something, you can always try that (accompanied with a picture if that would help).

Side, Front, back... I think the one you posted is the one.
That site you found has just about any fastener you'd ever need. Good find.
Auto zone carries them too
Sweet. thanks.
