    Fuel gauge

    I have a question to throw out there.i recently replaced fuel tank with new sender.gas gauge didnt work prior was hoping new sender would correct.well heres the question i read that the sender needs to be grounded, but...as the old the new sender has a rubber seal between it and the tank so how does it ground thanks in advance because i know someone has the answer

    Ground the pick up tube from sender to a solid ground spot.

    The "pick up tube"? It has one wire connection in middle is that connected to tube?

    Should it have a separate wire from the beginning for ground

    I looked a picture up the 5 bolted one has a pick up tube .mine didnt have that for the single wire one

    The one connection wire should be feed for the gauge, leave that alone.
    Try an alligator clip connected to a metal part of sender somewhere to a frame piece of metal just to see if you on the right track.

    No problem speeder.i did connect wire from trunk to top of sender.same results when key is turned gauge pegs upward on empty side then back to empty i have appr 10gls in a 17gl tank should show reading. I like the reproduction mservice book .it tells you to get a known working sender and how to test lol.guess th8s weekend ill trace out wiring.most posts i find say theirs always peg full thanks again

    All my old mopars had a grounding strap that went over the rubber hose. found a pic of one on Amazon. It conects the 2 metal tubes together.

    Is this strap on fuel line,when you say rubber hose ?

    Yes it connects the fuel line to line coming out of the tank. over the piece of connector rubber hose. and provides the ground for the fuel gauge.
